Other meetings
Jillian Poole met with the director of the National Museum, Michal Lucas. They discussed the proposed second regional museum conference in Bucharest, and he agreed to be a speaker. He also requested an expert security consultant to brief his new Director of Security and staff. The Fund agreed to do this and has initiated discussions with the leading international expert, Wilbur Faulk. Other federal museums in Prague, the Museum of Decorative Arts, the Agriculture Museum, the Literary Museum, and the National Art Museum may be interested in joining in these consultations.
Foundation/Fund of Museums and Galleries, and Czech Memory Project
Sally Yerkovich and Jillian Poole attended a meeting of the Foundation/Fund of Museums and Galleries, chairman Jara Moserova. The Fund was instrumental in helping to create this organization 1992 and we have supported it over the years by sending a variety of consultants to assist with its projects. The final project of this Foundation/Fund is a memory project concerning the years of totalitarianism, "Total Absurdity" that has now been adopted by the National Library. As for the Foundation/Fund itself, it was unanimously agreed that it has now served its major purposes — it created a joint forum for the major museums and galleries of Prague, gave them international contacts and enabled them to undertake a number of significant joint projects in Prague — and now should be dissolved. The motion was approved and chairman Jara Moserova expressed gratitude to all.
